CPD reviewer information

Continuing Professional Development (“CPD”) is the process of acquiring, maintaining and enhancing the skills and knowledge needed for professional practice after graduation. All veterinarians in New Zealand must take part in CPD. A key objective of CPD is for veterinarians to continue to build their confidence and competence through both technical and non-technical skills. There is an expectation that veterinarians will maintain their competence through CPD.

Each year, VCNZ selects a small number of veterinarians to have their CPD Reviewed. This Review helps veterinarians get more form their CPD and provides assurance to the wider profession, the public and VCNZ that veterinarians are engaging in in sufficient relevant professional development.

We’re looking for veterinarians to join our pool of CPD Reviewers. CPD Reviewers are responsible for undertaking the Reviewing of veterinarian’s CPD plans activities and learning outcomes. We’re looking for experienced veterinarians from a range of veterinary backgrounds, in particular, those who have an interest in CPD and professional development.
