Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
CPD is the process of acquiring, maintaining and enhancing the skills and knowledge needed for professional practice. All veterinarians must take part in CPD.
Our requirements for CPD are changing. In 2021, we are trialing our new CPD framework and we expect it to come fully into force in 2022.
2021 is a trial year and we're asking veterinarians to take part in the new framework. We will gather feedback on veterinarians' experiences with it and make any needed changes for 2022.
We are currently developing resources to help and will add them to this page as they become available.
CPD Information for veterinarians sets out the framework and what is expected.
You can read the consultation page
for a quick summary of the research we did, the changes from the old system and the rationale behind them.
